Overview
Gangtok is a beautiful hill station located in the Indian state of Sikkim. It is the capital city of the state and is situated at an altitude of 5,500 feet.Gangtok is also home to some of the most beautiful monasteries in the region, including the Rumtek Monastery and the Enchey Monastery. The Rumtek Monastery is the largest monastery in Sikkim and is home to the Karma Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Other popular landmarks in Gangtok include the Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, and the Ganesh Tok View Point. The Tsomgo Lake is a glacial lake located at an altitude of 12,400 feet and is a popular spot for bird watching. The Nathula Pass is a mountain pass that connects India and Tibet and is a popular spot for trekking and sightseeing. The Ganesh Tok View Point is a hilltop temple that offers breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding mountains.
